Issue with Your Property Insurance Claim? When Should You Call Me?

Wind damaged roof

As an attorney who represents commercial property owners in North Texas, you may wonder what my fee structure looks like. First, I understand that contacting a lawyer may seem like overkill when it comes to property insurance claims. However, if you’re not getting what’s needed to sufficiently repair and protect your investment, then it’s time for a conversation.

I believe most lawyers should structure their fees to fit the work. For example, I work on a contingent fee so there is no out-of-pocket expense for you. As for my fee, it varies depending on the level of my involvement and the status of the claim.

Should you call me? Here are a few questions you should ask yourself:

  1. Do you fully understand your policy? What is covered? What is excluded?
  2. Do you know the date of loss? Can you support the date of loss with photos or other documentation?
  3. Has the insurance company inspected promptly and shared their findings with you? If your insurer hired an engineer, did they share the report with you?

If you answer “no” to any of these questions, you might consider consulting with a lawyer who handles first party property insurance claims. The Hoch Law Firm does not charge a fee for a conversation or consultation.
